Serving Our Communities
ASI strives to serve and advocate for all students within the 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay community. As part of that effort, ASI recognizes that there are a number of cub-communities within the larger student community. To ensure that all voices are heard and represented, ASI has identified a list of sub-communities to connect with through campus departments and student groups.
While any ASI board member can and will advocate for students, the ASI Director of Communities and the ASI Senators-At-Large take the lead to work with sub-communities through the following priorities:
- Each year, the 5 board members will be assigned to serve as “point” for each community;
- They will begin each term with email outreach and introduction of their roles of support;
- They will work with campus partners and students within the communities to better understand what are the needs, successes, and challenges for the communities on campus;
- They will serve as a “bridge” between the communities and the ASI board members to identify ways to better advocate and serve for positive change;
Below is a list of the current point of contact for each community. If you are part of a sub-community on campus that isn’t listed below, please reach out to the ASI Director of Communities to discuss how we can work to better support:
