College of Health

The Inaugural College of Health opened its doors in July 2025. It currently consists of Kinesiology, Nursing, Public Health, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and Social Work. The vision of the College of Health is to build a locally responsive and globally aware community of health professionals who, collectively and individually, will positively transform health outcomes in the San Francisco Bay Area region, California, and beyond.

Faculty & Student Highlights

Dr. Kashinath Appointed Interim Associate Dean

Dr. Shubha Kashinath has been
appointed as Interim Associate Dean
of the College of Health! Dr. Kashinath
is a Professor in Speech, Language,
and Hearing Sciences. Her research
focused on personnel preparation in
speech language pathology and issues
related to disability justice.

ASI Student Senator Election

   
Matthias Dempsey '28 was elected as
the College of Health ASI Student
Senator! Matthias is a Kinesiology
major in the College of Health and
is a peer mentor for Think by the Bay.
His goals as senator are to host
community-building events and
provide meaningful programming
options for East Bay students.
