Crisis Support
Crisis Counseling Support
Crisis sessions are available both in person, and through telehealth for students not currently on campus.
If you feel you need to speak with someone sooner than the next available appointment, please call (510) 885-3735, or email shcscounseling@csueastbay.edu for a same-day crisis appointment. These are available from 1-2pm and 3-4pm each day, and will be scheduled in the order they are requested.
Crisis sessions are 30 minutes long, and will focus on assessment and planning for an immediate situation. If a student wants a longer appointment and can wait, they are advised to schedule a regular counseling session.
After-hours phone crisis support:
When the center is closed, students can call (510) 885-3735 and dial option 2 to be connected with a trained phone counselor. This service will send Counseling a message after each call in case follow up is needed. If you have any feedback about your experience with this phone service, please email us at shcscounseling@csueastbay.edu.
Staff, faculty, and community members can also call this service for guidance about how to support a student in distress.
In addition, see below for immediate phone crisis support.
