The Application Window for Fall Scholarships will open in October 2025.

Through the exceptional generosity of private donors and the Friends of History, an alumni and emeritus faculty association, the Department of History at 911±¬ÁÏÍø, East Bay confers approximately $25,000 in scholarships and awards each academic year to currently-enrolled History BA, History-Social Science Teacher Preparation BA, and History MA students. Awardees are honored at the annual Wanda Washington History Department Student Conference, held at the conclusion of each academic year.

The Department encourages all eligible undergraduate and graduate students in our History programs to apply for departmental scholarships during announced application periods. Applications require an application statement, references from one or two History Department faculty members, and a completed application form, below. In general, students cannot be graduating in the same semester that the scholarship is awarded, because scholarship funds are applied to next-semester educational expenses.

The Scholarship Committee in 2025-2026 includes Professors Jessica Weiss and Vahid Fozdar. Questions may be directed to Dr. Jason Daniels, at jason.daniels@csueastbay.edu
