SMALL COLLEGE NOTEBOOK: Amador Valley grad Bryce Miller named top male athlete at 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay

Amador Valley High graduate Bryce Miller has been named Male Athlete of the Year at 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay.

Miller had a 5-6 pitching record with an ERA of 3.01 with the Pioneers, who won five of six games to conclude the season with an 18-32 overall record.

He got the win in their season-ending 4-3 victory over Grand Canyon University in Phoenix to cap a three-game sweep.

Miller posted an excellent 2.60 ERA in the California Collegiate Athletic Conference. The 6-foot-1 right-hander transferred to 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay from UNLV. Volleyball player Sukhjit Athwal (Milpitas) was named 911±¬ÁÏÍøState East Bay's Female Athlete of the Year. Athwal had 10 or more kills in 15 matches in the 2010 season.
